Current Projects
Updated - May 2009
At any given moment, Richard is working on several things at once. This page will often be wildly inaccurate, but it gives an idea, for anyone interested, or bored enough to have read this far, of progress on current activities:
News!
There is news! My second submission to 365Tomorrows was accepted, and published on April 30th - Synapse. I can't host it here at the moment, but that link will get you there.

That long-promised effusive and award-winning review
Dear Friends. The Dear Friends blog has a new home. And a new entry, too. And there's vaguely encouraging news on the publisher front, too - it's been not actually rejected (which is not the same as accepted, but it's better than nothing).
Coming Soon
Not a John Barth novel, but things which are actively being worked on / considered / ignored, and which may see the light of day around here, if not snapped up by eager publishers first:
'Going Back', the "short story" which turned out, in the end, to be a little over 140,000 words long. It's now being hacked about to see if Richard can make it readable. Certain trusted individuals will then be invited to read longer sections of it, to see if Richard has actually written a story.
A new project which has stalled somewhat, thanks to working very hard on the rewrite of 'Going Back'. That, at least, has not stalled. If you really know where to look, you might be able to find it from here...
More 365 Tomorrows submissions - following the trimphant appearance of 'Synapse', the next submission is called '1+1=5' (thanks Cameron!), Richard is trying not to hold his breath as he awaits the verdict.
An expanded chapter from Dear Friends - publisher bait, you might call it. If you have any suggestions, or are a publisher in search of a riveting true story of moving halfway around the world, please get in touch via this link: info@richardwatt.ca
Yes, he's going to get round to this - one or two other things to take care of first...
A couple of things which Richard has lying around, either in the pile of unsorted material on his computer, or posted on various websites. If you were feeling unkind, you could call it the "avoiding doing any actual writing" project.
